I found the stuff in college Biology lab. We were using it to stain cells to watch the flow of water through a cell. When a teaspoon portion of it is added to a large beaker it will quickly dye the entire amount of water. [link]
The professor thought my interest in the chemical amusing and gave me about half a film canister full. I have since been mixing it with glue, inks, and acrylic matte to "dye" the mediums blue.
