I can call it a 'therapeutic piece'. I just had to soothe myself through art, and the result is </i>The Aggressive Linguistics</i> - an attempt to exploit stress, hesitation and frustrations in order not to be exploited by them completely (: - to turn them into creative stream in the most convenient way. The texts include my notes and copies from English Literature, Linguistics and French classes + special calligraphic improvisation.

The ligible text is:

[ Nothing is known | While the New | is invaded by (the) dialect most difficult for us. || _ || the splendid lack of logic | has acutally permitted | the pressures | on himself, | which he must accept | with dishonesty | unworthy of his destiny | to become slightly unreal, ]

:)

I like the movement in this piece; the use of text as a compositional element draws me in even more. Nice work!

To przecież trochę o to chodzi, nieprawdaż?

It's been a long time! I missed looking at your work :D

The first thing that this reminds me of is the work of Dave McKean... delicate, graceful, textured, surreal. I think it's the group of black markings in the middle.

That aside... I think you completed your objective very successfully. I can see your aggression, but everything seems so... controlled. I can tell you took your feelings and focused them into something palpable, rather than shit them out unintelligibly on paper like we all do from time to time :)

Beautiful, as always!

Nice to see you and read your comment. :) Yes, it was in fact an attempt to control the emotions, direct them, make the most of the chaos of feelings and keep them behind bars of the calligraphy. :D Well, sometimes it happens to me to throw everything on the paper, but then I try to carve something out of that shit anyway, so to speak. ;P Thanks for the comment and the :+fav: :)

HAHA! It is AMAZING how perfectly timed this was. To be fair, you posted this a little while before..uh..now, but taking Linguistics (the class) was a very very poor choice and seeing as how papers and finals are coming up, this was EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks.

:D :D

I really like Linguistics, but in reasonable amounts and when I can deal with them having my mind free from hundreds of other things to learn and to do. The pressure is no good, for mental creativity Linguistics often require ;P At least, the artistic one cannot be surpressed so easily and shows some self-preserving mechanisms :D Thank you for the comment and good luck on your finals. :)

I many times think to myself that I would love to see your art in reality. See and touch the textures and the materials you've used. Smell the painting whenever that's used etc. When it's digital it kind of loose some of it's uniqe....something. Which is sad because one doesn't get the complete art experience in full. It's difficult to describe in a language I don't fully handle, but I think you get my point. :p

However, I agree with what's said below. It's great! (:

That's nice what you wrote :) And you're right about the specific smell - indeed, it is unique, especially when vintage paper is used, which reminds of old books, ancient manuscripts... And it's true what you said about the digital versions - many of them become 'hermetic' when displayed digitally, whereas in real they are much more tangible as well as impressions that accompany them. :) On the other hand, it's quite optimistic: I shouldn't have problems with attracting the audience for future exhibitions then - maybe in Norway someday too. :D Tusen takk! :floating:

That interesting what you wrote because I was thinking of calling it "Nave senza nocchiero in gran tempesta" ("A ship without a pilot amidst terrible storms" taken from Dante's "Divine Comedy": Purgatorio, VI, 78.) but then abandon that idea, as the storm and anxiety seems to be hidden somewhere inside :) Thank you very much!
